Small Projects
The Association offers small grants of up to £500 for communal projects on sites.
In order to qualify, projects should meet the following criteria:

There is a clearly identified need for the project and it aligns with the objectives and with the priorities of the Association.

There is general agreement among Association members on the site that the project provides them with a real benefit;

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted and are in agreement with the project aims and plans for delivery;

There is a realistic plan for delivering the project within budget and an agreed time frame;

The project isn’t part of the Council’s remit i.e. is not something that the Council should provide/do as part of its statutory functions;

Other avenues for funding have been explored and no other funders can be found;

Preference will be given to those projects that involve an element of matching funding, either in financial terms or as volunteer contributions.

Cost of ground cover for vacant plots

Replacement/repairs to noticeboards

Security improvements – padlocks, key pads etc

Acquisition of water butts and pumps, for rain water or spring water harvesting only. These could also be funded under WatermyPlot project.
Recent small grants included materials for raised bed repairs at Hampton Row, a bench and chairs in the Larkhall community orchard area, shed and rubbish clearance and minor shed repairs at Lower Common East, help towards the installation of a beekeeping areas at Abbey View and on Bloomfield, and tree pruning at Claremont.
