New Local Plan and Council Strategies

The Association is actively engaged with the Council in the preparation of its Green Infrastructure and Local Food Growing Strategies. A number of changes to policies in the draft New Local Plan have been formally submitted to the Council. This includes Local Green Space designations and stronger requirements for developers to provide growing space integrated into their sites, rather than making a cash payment. The outcome of these submissions will not be known until late summer 2025.

 

The BAA also makes comments on planning applications affecting allotment sites or the future provision of allotments in new developments.
